The Cummins Denox 2.2 AdBlue pump 0444042020 is a new 12V replacement unit for commercial vehicle emissions systems. This pump can also be identified by references 0444042071 and 83707330, the latter being associated with AGCO/Sisu Diesel applications.
The Denox 2.2 pump supplies AdBlue at the pressure required by the emissions aftertreatment system. Problems with the pump can result in loss of system pressure, AdBlue or emissions warning messages, diagnostic fault codes and vehicle derating. Adblue pump failures are very common in commercial vehicle and public transport sectors. Failures in the main come from a lack of maintenance of the systems, lack of maintenance can cause crystallisation issues which also lead to the system not operating correctly. Adblue pump costs can range dependant on what’s requested from the unit its self. If we a traditionally pumping unit the costs are lower than that of a unit that is programmed specifically to the vehicles chassis.
Pumps on a bus/coach would be located at the rear of the vehicle close to the exhaust system and in contrast to a truck these would be located on the chassis of the tractor unit toward the second axle close enough to the exhaust system.
Diesel engines are now required to meet strict NOx levels to comply with emission zone standards set out by local governments. The preferred method involves injecting a urea based chemical, more commonly named Adblue, directly into the exhaust system.
